Spanish Crossfire
« on: August 06, 2018, 12:34:37 PM »
All,
Crossfire has long been a favorite set of rules of mine.  Have not played it in quite awhile however.  I've been going through several sets of rules for the SCW, trying to decide which best fits my needs.  Yesterday, I set up the table and introduced my son in law to Crossfire, as translated to the Spanish Civil War.  Using a variant written over 10 years ago, I gave him an overview of the game's mechanics, and off we went.  I had a force of Militia, two regular platoons and one green, assaulting a village defended by a platoon of Guardia Civile. Moors were approaching to relieve them and drive off the Militia.
I'm sure after so many years, I got a few detail wrong, but we had a great game.  In the end the Militia was unable to break through the Moors and Guardia, and the village remains in Fascist hands.
