Kill Team: Genestealer Cult
« on: August 08, 2018, 08:38:37 PM »
My local gaming store is running games of kill team at the moment and wanting to get involved, I decided it was time to actually do something with the Genestealer Cult miniatures I’ve had hanging around for a while.
Here’s my test miniature.

Looking fantastic! What paints did you use for the skin colour?

Thanks everyone. The pressure is on now to get more finished  lol

Looking fantastic! What paints did you use for the skin colour?

The skin was first painted bugmans glow, Agrax earthshade wash (this wash I do over whole model once base colours are down). Reapply bugmans glow leaving shade in recesses, then layer Cadian flesh/bugmans glow mix, layer Cadian flesh, layer/highlight kislev flesh (quite a lot of water mixed in with this for top of head so it’s more like a glaze). Once dry fully I use 3:1 mix of lahmian medium and druchii violet wash on the back/top of head and back of hands. Let dry and reapply this mix to increase the purple intensity. Repeat until you get a satisfactory purple hue. With each application of this purple wash mix I reduce the area size I’m applying it to.

Thanks! The violet wash really gives a nice effect, i will try that.
