My Stockade jig
« on: August 08, 2018, 10:13:03 PM »
I have made a Woodland Indian village with stockade and now one for the poor defenseless Pilgrims.

1) Jig consists of a piece of MDF with 2 wood strip set at a 90 degree angle.
2) Lay down a layer of Frog tape used in decorating.
3) Cut 'logs' from bamboo skewers - I vary the lengths to give them a little variety before cutting the pointed end.
4) Using a hot glue gun, I put down about 1 inch of hot glue into the corner of the long edge and position the 'logs' sliding them in towards the longer strip to avoid getting excess hot glue spread out on the Frog tape.
5) When I have completed a length, I mark the height of the walkway.
6) Use PVA glue to position the support for the walkway.

When the PVA has dried the section can be lifted away for the next stage. I always replace the Frog tape after each section is completed.

The walkway was made using the same jig.

Well, very nice, and I will steal borrow the concept for my own village - though you aren't done yet, you realize?  You need the outer wall, too.  At least for the Iroquois League "Castles".   lol
