LotR-Scale Dark Ages
« on: September 12, 2018, 07:31:20 AM »
Hello everyone,

I was wondering if LAF knew of Dark Age and Early Medieval ranges that are the same sort of scale as GW's Lord of the Rings "true-scale" 28mm figures. I have a vague notion of a project in mind, and only want to use a few of the GW figures as centre-pieces to my Middle Earth.

Thanks in advance!

I've used GW LOTR with my Warlord and Gripping Beast Dark Age figures with good scale comparison.

Are the Warlord ones the ex-Saxon Miniatures ones? They're near the top of my list, along with Footsore. Are your GB minis the plastic ones?

Perry miniatures crusaders are a very good fit, Tanatus miniatures too but maybe a little bigger compared to the early LOTR plastic figures. Ebob has some Normans that fit the bill.

I believe Fireforge plastic Russians fit well too. Maybe nice for men of Dale or Laketown, cheap too.

Oh, and I heard the Footsore Normans are a bit smaller than usual for them, so maybe you are in luck there!
