Sometimes a game can make all of the difference. It's done it for me because, after struggling to initially get enough on the table for a game, I've got the project mojo back.
I've added a four new units over the last couple of weeks with more coming thick and fast.

It feels good to be making progress again.

Will the Napoleonic collection be marching to Leeds this year, old bean?

I'm not sure I'll have enough for a demo this year.
We're doing an Italian Wars game at Fiasco this year - I was hoping to do Ravenna, but that depends on me getting around to casting some 'war carts' and painting some crew to man them.

Napoleons Legions,
in this case Hannovrienne and Du Midi.
The first of several 'foriegn' units in my French collection, these declare that I'm going for colour.

I always admire your output and quality. The only thing that seems odd is the white paper of the flag showing at its side (at least with the Legion de Midi).

Forgot to do the edge. Realised as soon as I'd posted on my blog. The white is now inked out.

To get figures onto the table quickly I took the decision to paint 'commanders' at one per base. This was expedient but, it was a stop gap and, I knew I wanted my command stands to be more.
Last week I brought my command stands up to strength by painting a dozen extra figures. It meant some re-basing, but better now than having to do even more re-basing some way down the line. In future command stands will be at least 2 figures strong and painted as new formations become available.

Very nice and well-painted!
They will really boost the morale of their troops!

Sometimes you realise that you've made a mistake. Sometimes you realise half way through a project and wonder if you should continue or make the required change.
I've just bitten the bullet and re-based over 500 infantry.

https://olicanalad.blogspot.com/2018/10/when-youre-in-hole.html
I've also discovered a slight overspend. I need 48 units of infantry for the project. I still have 72 figures to buy - but this lot will still be left over!
I'm open to offers on the latter.

4 bases per unit works very well. Being a cheapskate, I have 4 bases each with 4 figures (so 16 figures to a battalion)

Front Rank do individual figures - why not just buy the odds and ends you need to round out a few more battalions?

Just lovely James. With regard to the overflow, I would be amazed if you don't already have a plan for them.

The basing is much better. Looks more realistic. Also 4 bases will look right for squares as well.
