What's around York, UK?
« on: August 21, 2018, 04:28:13 PM »
Can any of you chaps tell me what there is around York in terms of gaming shops? I've already been to OG Games, Travelling Man and the 2 railway model shops and Games Crusade in Harrogate. Thank you.

Boyes in Scarborough (department store with branches in York and Malton) has the full range of Valejo paints, including airbrush paints, texture paint and pigments/powders.
The Scarborough store also has a really good steak pie meal in the café.
Scarborough also has a board game shop and a plastic model shop.

There are a few clubs around, Scarborough has one that meets in a snooker hall most Monday & Thursday nights (plus a couple of other clubs). York has a board game club and the club who put on Vapnartak.
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Whippets, flat caps, mushy peas and cricketers and people telling you to go to the foot of their stairs, mostly.

Yeah, not much left of the actual Roman walls these days.

Jorvic Viking Centre - that place is always worth a visit if you are into your Dark Ages.

You know, it's a possibility, especially with the Viking centre. My better half would more than love that.

And yet all I ever seem to get time to do is run my school club. You make me ashamed that I don't do more in the town.

Mind you, I pretty much keep Boyes funded with my spending on Vallejo paints.
