Verge of War Kickstarter - Thoughts?
« on: August 21, 2018, 10:05:51 PM »
Not mine, but looks like an interesting system and world.... thoughts? The minis are certainly cool and I like the look of the tanks and drones...

I like some of the minis, but I'd prefer an option for a single faction, rather than having to buy the whole core box. No, I don't count the "Pirates, if we unlock them" option.

I love some of the alien stuff and the Raptors but that would be all I'd want from the box.

It certainly looks good but the options are limited.

The good thing is that there are lots of nicely painted miniatures shown off... so they have already done a lot of the hard work :)

Lots of nice figures, but scale creep seems to the in-thing just now :(

Most of the basic humans seem to be 38mm. Some pictures suggest that's the full height, but the tiny scale comparison images sorta suggest it's to the eye.

Either way, too tall for me.

I asked him if he could put a figure next to a GW space marine for comparison. Let's see if he posts a photo. Also, it's nice that you can buy the figures al la cart with the $10 pledge... i'm interested in some but not all as well... i really hope the second tank gets unlocked... $10 for a resin tank seems VERY fair.

I have no interest in the game itself, but there are a few of the models I like.

Fine looking raptors :)

Strange choice for a comparison, a standard (old) plastic womble would be a figure most people with 40K figures have, I have no idea how tall a Necron lord is (even though I suspect I have an unfinished one somewhere).

Even one of the new big marines (which I do not have) would have been more useful.

I had him post a pic next to an actual space marine... taller for sure, but i still think a lot of the drones/tanks/knights are too cool to pass up.
