The model is actually a bit of a cheeky caracature of a friend of mine. He was a platoon commander in the Kings royal hussars tank regiment. His troop being descended from the 10th hussars. It's a well known fact that they could not fight any enemies without nato standard tea ( milk 2 sugars) and a nice plate of biscuits. I'll have to go with your suggestion of him not actually being a gentleman. :-)

Many likes!!!  lol

And your 95th... awe-some!

Just finished the musician for the 10th hussars.
These take a long time to paint compared to my usual fantasy figures, but they are very rewarding once finished.

A friend of mine was an RTR officer.  He told me that the worst thing you could do was to try and drink a mug of tea whilst your tank was "advancing" (at all, never mind at speed), as you ended up wearing most of it.

Everybody knows tankies park up to drink their tea...
Robert Redford said so in 'A Bridge Too Far'!

Great work, really great.

As an ex Tankie I must protest 😁 We established that drinking on the move was just like  firing on tne move - it went everywhere but sometimes on target so was worth it. 😁

Thanks guys!
Sorry no update for a while. I finished my last  unit for the event 1 hour before we left for bristol, my artillery.

Just returned from the event, had a brilliant weekend, David, who organised it, put on a huge amount of work. Each table was themed to its scenario. Scenery was outstanding, best ive ever played on.

Each side had a seperate briefing outlining the scenario ( which were all different, with lots of twists). All were unique.

Having only played 2 real games before hand I was nervous but needn't have worried.

All my opponents were fantastic, explaining rules, answering questions and putting up with my being a newb.

All played in great spirit. I managed to get one win out of my five games, but by trying hard on all the personal objectives ( everyone had 3, usually 1 of which could be completed more than once, and a bonus for doing them all) I effectively pulled of 3 'losing wins' where I still accrued quite a few points.
That strategy saw me bag second place british General! Gobsmacked.

If you can get to one of these type events, definitely give it a try.
