After a break of a couple of weeks we are back at it in Malaya for Scenario 3 where the Japanese come up against the main Australian line. Up until now the Japanese have successfully pushed the Australians back but now it is time for them to make a stand. Will the Australians bring the Japanese advance to a halt?

Another great looking game in the jungle. well done.

Did you make your own markers or are they commercial?
Cheers,

Thanks. In this particular game the markers for things like Tactical and Broken were my opponent’s and I think some of them came from Olympian Games.  The jump off points and patrol markers I made myself.  You can see more about the markers and other pieces I have made for CoC here https://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2018/07/chain-of-command-beginners-guide.html

The Australians decide to take advantage of their victory in the last scenario and take the fight to the Japanese. They have to be careful not to take too many casualties but whatever they can do to delay the Japanese will help towards a campaign victory. A short gap between AARs and we are back at it again. This time the Japanese resume their attack to clear Map 3, this time taking an alternative route through the jungle. Would it prove more fruitful than their failed attack down the road, or would the Australians prove capable of repulsing them once again? The Japanese drive continues and we find the Australians defending a precarious position with a high risk the Japanese will get around to their rear and block their withdrawal. This calls for careful play by the Australians, as the consequences of losing here could be dire. Nice. Wise of Dave to withdraw. As usual, great looking table.

The Australians have done well so far, but their numbers are down and the Japanese are pursuing them aggressively. How much longer can they keep the Japanese at bay? This is the second last map of the campaign and it's coming down to the wire. If the Japanese can win this one and the first game on the final map then they seal a minor and historical victory. Wow!  That table looks pretty bad ass!  The overall look puts you in the tropics.  I reall dig you roads...never thought about roads for that type of terrain.  My buddy has Jap platoon and we've been kicking around doing this campaign.  I just finished up some Aussies too.

We now reach Map 6, the final map of the campaign and the Australians have had to resort to a replacement platoon of inexperienced, rear echelon men. Things are looking desperate and victory for the Japanese here will give them a minor campaign victory. Can the green Australian platoon make a desperate, last ditch stand and stave off defeat? The Japanese are back for more, can they dislodge the green Australian platoon, who may be inexperienced but so far have put up a very determined resistance? Full AAR here https://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2019/01/malaya-1942-map-6-securing-crossing.html
