Terrain for 1/600 Aeronefs?
« on: August 21, 2018, 05:32:56 AM »
Greetings all. I have embarked on building up forces for Ironclads and Ether Flyers using SquirmyDads paper models. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for ready made Martian terrain for this scale?
Canals/rivers, towers and buildings, weird vegetation, cliffs, etc. I will build what I need if not available, but it would be nice to pick up a few pieces.
Best.

My first thought was re-using 1/1200, like the Amera island and harbour usually touted for Dystopian Wars.

Then I started searching for ACW/WBtS, and stumbled across Peter Pig's "Range 7" Riverine items. Forts, gun emplacements, and the like for river warfare. Some might be useful.

Off the top of my head, shooting from the hip, and any other bodily homilies I can dredge up, but I'll cogitate a bit more.

I think Langton Miniatures have some small scale ACW forts etc that might do the job.

There's also Brigade Models in the UK that have some building that are suitable.
cheers

If it's the Starfort series, Langton sold them to Cracker Line, and at 10-15mm, might be a stretch.

Brigade Models go the Amera direction, though the ones I suggested of Amera's are a bit scale neural.

Googling '3mm scenery' got me several possibilities, though. I'm intrigued by GameCraft and PicoArmor. Back to diggin'...

[Edit] Words from Brigade Models for their Small Scale Scenery puts me in my place ;D concerning THIS thread: They are also ideal as scenery/targets for larger scale aircraft models (anywhere from 1/700th up to 1/144th or 1/100th) where they provide a sense of forced perspective and higher altitude. A large number of customers also use them with 3mm scale vehicles and figures.

I'd take a look at Irregular Miniatures 2mm terrain range too!
