Weird West/Steampunk Shenanigans in 15mm
« on: July 18, 2019, 07:38:15 PM »
Hi.

I've had some Peter Pig Wild West figures kicking around for ages so I thought I'd have a bash at putting together a force for some Weird West/Steampunk VSF gaming.

At present I've got a unit of pistol toting types and a second with rifles. I'm also slowly working on some steam powered infantry which I'm hoping to finish and get painted soon too.

More pics can be found on my blog: http://talesfromfarpoint.blogspot.com/2019/07/cowboys-vs-aliens.html

Any thoughts of a small Cavalry Unit? That way you will have a unit for you VSF  Cowboys to be disgruntled with as well as the units you already have.

How does  Blue Moon's Western Figures compare  to Peter Pig's Figures?

What rule set are you using? I'm quite  interested in your thread here.
Just remember "If the Enemy is in range, so are YOU!

Blue Moon will TOWER over Peter Pig figures.  Though both are nice ranges.  I have a bunch of both in my Old West stuff waiting to be painted.  I mix freely and eclecticly.  Variety matters more to me.  And at 15 mm, anyone who is going to carefully measure two different pistols will be sent packing from the game - it's about fun, not rivet counting.  Wait...

Thanks for the comments folks!

I'm planning on using a hybrid of Rebels and Patriots and Dragon Rampant to add some steampunk flair to my games.

Here's a quick pic of the new additions to my force in the form of a unit of Ironclad Infantry:

Fine work.  You might also look at the 15mm Wild West line from Hovels.  They were designed by Leon Locke(Adler) and have a great amount of detail.

Interesting little project - the figures have painted up nicely.
