Necron Kill Team
« on: August 31, 2018, 10:09:31 AM »
With the New Kill team rules out my brother and I are both making up some killteams.
I had an old Space Crusade Android that had its weapon missing so I hacked its face off and did some converting.

Here is a Deathmark for the team, not painted yet. I'll be using a bunch of old Necrons (metal) for the rest of the team and If I can source an old metal Immortal or two I'll add them in as well.

Sorry about the dodgy second photo.

Very cool! 8)

I have a very large 40K Necron army, completely made up of the old metals (plus Space Crusade plastics). I did conversions for those units not available in the limited range, and did a lot of reposing on my Warriors and Immortals, to prevent them all looking the same.

And when the Kill Team rules came out, I set out to convert a team from the old metals (and Space Crusade plastics). But I hit a snag when wanting to convert a Deathmark, and the project faltered.

But you might just have revived my interest in them with this project of yours! :)

A pity that the androids are so monopose with the arms firmly attached to the body. Regardless, I have no more android minis lol

Thanks. It should look much more seamless once painted

I'd probably only want a couple so postage itself probably wouldn't be worth it. But thank you for the offer :)

That came out really well, the pose works for the Deathmark.

Thanks. They are great old minis. Stood the test of time when looking at the new necrons.

Thanks :)
Anyway, I finally got around to converting a couple more that Daeothar kindly sent me. These are the Immortals. If I feel they need more beefing up I might add some shoulder pads. I'm also thinking about adding some wires from the immortals weapons to their backs
I also painted up some old metal Necrons. Next I have to think how to do some flayed ones. I played against my sons Deathwatch team yesterday. A fun little bunch (I only used 7 not the 8 shown)
You can't quite see but I used some green earth pigments to create a "just out of the ground" look. Varnishing got rid of a bunch of it unfortunately.

I like the look you've achieved - very cute in some ways.

Flayed Ones just converting with strips of Greenstuff and/or tissue(!) paper soaked in PVA?

Great stuff; glad to see they got put to good use :)

I really like your conversions; what parts did you use for the weapons and spines on the Immortals?
