Did some Tekumel snakemen conversions (finally)... kindly donated by Sir Barnaby Hammond-Rye. I was going to post in that particular thread but it seems to have been archived quite some time ago. Sorry for the delay but my current rate of modelling and painting can be best described as tectonic. :(

Anyways, thought it might be interesting to show a couple of pics before painting, so as better to see how I converted them. Originally they have tendrils instead of hands. I used some handy (pun intented) parts from the plastic bits box, and cannibalised some arms from Mantic zombies and a GW Hobbit plastic goblin set that I bought from a forum member. I am quite pleased with how I got them fit with a bit of greenstuff and wiring. Those two-handed pole carriers can be a pain to set, but I think they look pretty natural.

They look pretty good.

My modelling/painting is pretty slow too, but since visiting here I am actually a lot more productive (I've churned out out few armies in the last 12-18 months). Look forward to seeing these painted.

Great Stuff in here!

My latest conversions which is yet to be finished is a scatchbuilt Mortar for my Dwarf army. I never understood why that technoligical inferior Empire had one and Dwarves didn`t. Its mostly Parts from different Warmachines and Dwarf Warriors. My aim was to make it a seamless as possible and make it blend in with the current Line of WHFB Dwarf Warmachines.

First Mock ups.

About to be finished.

Before I dip my toes.... does the conversion have to be completed or can it be in stages?

Darrell.

Since theesepics were taken I've added the belt but it need to be cut off and the waist on the mini needs to be slimmer before i add the next layer of putty.....

Looking good. That's the trick with doing your own sculpting - you can't do it all in one sitting (as you have to wait for layers to dry before you can build on top of them).

Here's my latest effort (not quite finished). First four are supposed to be Rhodesian troops still with their jump helmets on. These 20mm blokes were/are the generic NATO troops from Elhiem, I just removed the butt packs and replaced with pouches, then filed down the helmets to look more like WW2 Brit para helmets.

This bloke was just a head swap and a file down of some of the webbing, will add to my collection of RLI blokes:
