15-20mm Sci-fi Miniatures companies
« on: September 03, 2018, 11:05:57 AM »
Hey all I have just recently started collecting 20mm figures for Gaslands and I must say it is an addictive scale of miniature to paint!
I was looking to start a few sci fi skirmish sized forces for various games.

The only problem is I know very little of what companies make miniatures for this scale so I thought I'd ask the Hive Mind of the LAF to help me out with what ever companies you know of that make any kind of 15 or 20mm Sci-fi Miniatures with links if possible, thanks in advance.  :)

I like Ground Zero Games, The Ion Age, Alternative Armies, Brigade, the Scene... then there's a lot of minor outfits, like SLAP miniatures.

It's a lovely scale!

For 20mm (which is significantly larger than 15mm just to be sure of that) check:

and

https://www.elhiem.co.uk/

and if you can get them, GW's Dark Future miniatures are difficult to get and not cheap but simply incredibly well sculpted!

Was gonna suggest Elheim and yes 15mm is probably too small if you're doing hotwheels car scale post apoc. The cars can already be bigger than 20mm slightly so will dwarf 15mm minis. Also look at 1/72 plastic mini sets as they're cheap as hell and about the right scale. They're generally historical subjects so you'll need to do some work but that's pretty much the post apoc car hobby.  ;)

As an example the 1/72 Pegasus Gladiators set is really good for that mad max raider vibe.

My gladiator faction are all using these models.

There's also the Italeri 1/72 Indian Warriors box that I've seen several people use as the basis of warboys too. Check this link for an example.

wow! Never thought about this...they look pretty good and might also be handy to be chopped apart to "kustomize" some other models!
