Any Bullet Will Do

A new western is coming out soon. It looks good, but with Hollywood you can't be sure until you see it. At the least it should be entertaining, even if they completely hose the history...

Direct to DVD is not a good sign - usually reserved for movies that the execs have written off as not worth a theatrical release or some one's self-financed movie (that all too often isn't worth the effort of the craft services folk, sadly).  Lot's of enthusiasm in movie making but sometimes it takes more than enthusiasm for the movie to be watchable.  And one 'star' often means the star gets a payday and the movie gets some minimal publicity - but still not watchable.  Ah, I miss real studios -- still plenty of bad movies but lots of good ones, too.

Speaking of westerns on the way, The Sisters Brothers looks good. The trailer came out a few weeks ago, I think. The novel is well worth a read, and is the sort of narrative that could translate really well to the big screen, with the right casting. Fingers crossed on that!
