Galloping Major Settlers
« on: August 29, 2018, 07:45:27 AM »
I've been working on this for a while. I couldn't get to the point where considered it finished, but this is now complete.
The figures are all Galloping Major sculpts, part of their excellent "Settlers" line.
Painted by Aaron of Pennsyltucky, who is an outstanding figure painter

I did all of the terrain, including the fencing. The thicket was made from rubberized horse hair, using the method described in my Thicket Tutorial.
The fence began life as a Lemax fence, that I took apart and reworked.
The tree stumps are a model RR product from Ebay.

I took a few fun pix with some attacking Indians, that I'll post later.

I like the thicket and the groundwork, the whole composition looks very real! Cheers!

Those brambles along the fence line really make the piece. You can see the clear demarcation between settled land and the wilderness.
