Looks great James - another expansion to Mr Imrie's medieval landscape.
Have been assembling bits to make medieval graveyard myself, so am following with immense anticipation (...for ideas to nick!!)

Great little church.  It could work for many periods.  Like the painting, I've taken notes.
Been playing with toy soldiers since the mid 70s.  Not planning to grow up any time soon.

That is a lovely model and the colour looks spot on.  And he’s not just quick, judging by all the other threads he’s bloody prolific as well!

And a useful reminder Humph, thanks.

Thank gents  :)

Interesting info about the graveyard. I was assuming wooden crosses and the like because you don’t see any early versions at all.

I’ll pass the info on and see what David says. I know he wants it for multiple periods though so maybe a balance will be struck.
cheers

James

Looks good, as always  :D

Just a question about your answer to Charlie on painting the stone work. You refer to greys but it looks much browner than that to me. Is it my monitor or were you talking about the roof?
I've just asked the oracle, Mrs V and she says it's grey and must be my eyes.   o_o

It's probably the brown ink wash and weathering that throws it off a bit. I'm slightly colourblind myself but the basecoat was definitely grey  :)

James - re graveyards...
These maybe of interest for you and Dave Imrie to chew over?
Note they're French and not English - taking Humakt's knowledge comments into account.

heers, Simon.

Great images. It's the ground level grave markers that I've seen in older graves too, so that makes sense.

Thanks for the comments chaps and it's good to see you back Matt  :)

So, the base is on and I've done a couple of little hedge bits that will adjoin onto the graveyard. There will also be a separate hedge that will allow the graveyard to be used separately.

The base sets it off nicely. I like the little slabs on the side.
