Wehrmacht MG 08 and MG 08/15
« on: September 18, 2018, 08:50:18 PM »
Evening gents (and ladies of course). Today I‘ve got a question for the hive mind.

Release of the latest supplement for Chain of Command got me thinking.
I quite fancy building a 7th wave (more or less scrape of the barrel) German platoon kitted out with MG 08/15 as „light“ machine guns and MG 08‘s for the support role... most of the lads would probably have fielded that very same equipment just 20 odd years before.

I know of Studio Siberia offering a MG 08 (as well as a Schwarzlose in fact) without crew, thus with a little tinkering one could probably build some suitable crew figures from Warlord Games plastics or use other manufacturers metals. A shame though the MG 34/ 42 was fed from the left as opposed to the MG 08....
I‘d of course take stock Wehrmacht with MG 08 too  ;)

But does anybody know of suitable miniatures in Wehrmacht attire armed with MG 08/15‘s? Or of single weapons to fit to other miniatures?

If I had any skill with green stuff I‘d probably try my hand on the Great War Miniatures late war Germans, as they shouldn‘t be too hard to convert, but alas I‘m gifted with two left hands when it comes to sculpting.

I’m sure some of the Great War Miniatures come with separate Mg08 with arm attached, if you ask nicely North Star might sell you some separately
