Thanks. definitely give oil washes a go, they're awesome. Just get some dark brown and black oil paint and some odorless mineral spirits. Go for the artist grade paint, don't skimp out on the student grade stuff. Mix nice thin slurry of oil paint and ODM and slather it all over the model (usually best to give it a satin or gloss varnish first), then let the ODM evaporate off for a bit and you can go back with a cloth or cotton bud and wipe it all away, it'll stay in the crevices and leave the raised areas the original color. It's like doing a basecoat then regular wash then carefully reapplying that basecoat paint, but it's a fraction of the time and effort.
Did a fewhighlights on the skin tonight, now I'm just waiting for the basing paste to dry so I can finish them off
