Lovely! I adore naval actions!

Like Din, I also enjoy the Naval posts . I was reading this on your blog last night . The ships are little gems and the mat sets them off nicely.

R.U.P. has been slaving away on the ships for some time, the photo-etched ratlines really make them look sharp.
I must confess that I haven't the patience for such fine detail work

Those are some very nicely painted and rigged ships.  :)
Thank you for posting and sharing.

Am I right that the game was based on a real encounter off Brazil? If I recall correctly, the San Agustin was captured by the Portuguese and then returned a few years later.

Do you know where the lovely mat came from or comes from?

The scenarios are from a supplement to Close Action, I believe that they are all real  actions or near-misses. The mat is from Deep Cut Studios and looks even better in person. R.U.P. advised that they service was top-notch and the prices and delivery time were very reasonable

Thank you for the details of the mat. I enjoyed reading some of your other blog posts too. :-)

It's about time I repaired my 1/1200 ships.

Photo-etched ratlines are super! But also the warm colors on the sails and the hull make the ships look fabulous! Cheers!
