Trip to Nottingham
« on: September 24, 2018, 12:51:53 PM »
Hi,
next week I'll be on holydays in London and I'm planning a one day trip to Nottingham.
I'll arrive in the morning by train.
What are the best "miniature" places to see?

I found: North Star, Warlord, River Horse,  GW and Arcane Scenery

Unfortunately Mantic Games is too far away to go by foot and the same is for Foundry, The Assault Group or Battlefront Miniatures.
Perry haven't a shop or warehouse open to visit (I asked directly to them a while ago)

Thank you
Davide

I hadn't realised Foundry had moved. When I was in Nottingham a few years ago they were a 10 minute taxi ride from GW.

I also hadn't realised there were quite so many mini companies in Nottingham lol

Good luck on the day trip, sounds like you should take a couple of empty suitcases with you :D

The bonus is that Warlord, Nth Star, Arcane and Footsore are all in the one complex. Take a very strong and very large bag. They have even cast something for me if they were out of stock.

Foundry is a ways out sadly, but it really is worth the visit if you can find a bus/similar to get out there.

Bad Squiddo Games is in Lenton Business Centre as well, in unit W34. Go see Annie and her guinea pigs … but bring cookies.

I didn't know that!

Do all these companies have actual 'proper' shops? Or is it more that if you track them down and knock on the door they are happy to invite you in and sell you stuff?

Lenton Business Centre on Lenton Boulevard. I think some have a little visitor centre and shop and some are just warehouses and offices, but they all seem happy to have a chat and a cup of tea (especially if you bribe them with baked treats) and perhaps let you wander off with an impromptu purchase.
