28mm Tramp Steamer
« on: September 28, 2018, 10:12:11 PM »
Hey all, back with another model here.
I built this from cardboard, foam core, crafting sticks, dowels, a charm for the ship's wheel, and i used a cut down T-shirt for the active hinges on the main hold hatch. She is 24"L x 6"W x 11"H [60.96 cm L x 15.24 cm W x 27.94 cm H]....I made it so it could be played with OR without the upper deck house as the bridge. Both the upper deck house and the ship's wheel are held in place with magnets.

let me know what you all think....
Cheers,
Carl

What was used for the rivets?

I used "puff paint"...it's a 3D paint used to write on material like T-shirts and such...it has a very tiny applicator, so a light squeeze...and viola, a rivet!

Really nice job :-* :-* I particularly like the compactness, the cargo crane, and the rivets!

Awesome work. I love the fact you painted the hull gloss black- looks like perfect marine enamel.

Yes... it's very nicely uniform for puff-paint rivets!
