One Fine Day in Normandy - Battlegroup - 500pts
« on: September 29, 2018, 11:49:07 AM »
I played my 3rd game of Battlegroup yesterday. Had a great game with Brits and Germans meeting in a small hamlet somewhere in Normandy using the Overlord Battles Beyond the Beaches tome. With my opponent and I both on out 3rd game we had to stop and check rules and mechanisms a fair bit but the game moved along at a steady pace and we started doing things smoothly after a few turns.

A great set of rules but, as we discussed during and after the game, we'd like to add a few house rules of our own to bring it closer to what we feel is right.

Anyway: I did a AAR on my blog and invite you to have a read at: https://this28mmlife.blogspot.com/2018/09/recce-screen-500pt-battlegroup-game.html

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Good game and good write up.

We have enjoyed our games of battlegroup a lot. And really should play some more.

Interesting thoughts around hidden movement. Not something that had cropped up in our games, perhaps due to terrain or perhaps due to the fairly small size of the battlefield
