I'm very excited about this game, as I already love Frostgrave and I've been exploring solo/co-op games lately.  Your battle reports are pulling my interest in even more but not helping my patience!

Thanks! I'm sure you won't have too long to wait (but no, I don't know when!)

I do have a quick question you might be able to answer:  Does the baddie AI incorporate NPCs with ranged weapons better than the Frostgrave rules?  I always thought that was lacking from the NPC action flowchart...even with the skeleton archers article from WGI.

Yep, some of the NPCs have ranged weapons.

Now that Rangers of Shadow Deep has been released, I can post my next playtest batrep! Contact has been lost with one of the frontier watchtowers, so our heroes must investigate.
But to reach the tower, they must first cross a river, only to find that the bridge is guarded...

Really great looking terrain. Is that aluminum foil being used as a frozen river??  :o

Thanks! It's actually a strip cut out of an anti-static bag :)

JP, I have enjoyed your Ranger reports.  I'm looking forward to getting a copy of the rules.

Also your terrain looks great.

Cheers! Apart from the mat and the trees, it was all scratchbuilt in this game.

A much better set up than we had for this scenario. Your reports with pictures are very useful for getting a quick understanding of the table setup! We were spotted almost immediately because we had few solid walls. Despite that, we crushed those gnolls without much trouble by going all in front and center. We had some good rolls, so I can imagine that it would look different had the gnolls been luckier with theirs. Towards the end the vulture turned up. It says it can only be attacked by figures that can fly. We interpreted that this was only for close combat and shot it down with a bow...this illustrates the big difference to Frostgrave and GA. Since we are cooperating, there is next to no bickering over rules  :D
Looking forward to your next report!

Thanks - next, and final (until I get time to continue with the next scenario) ROSD batrep coming soon.
Luckily the vulture didn't turn up in my game - just as well, as I don't have a model for it!

It's a great scenario; you never know what room you're going to walk into...
