Which Asian army should I release first?
« on: September 30, 2018, 02:57:02 AM »
I find myself in a position where I have three 15mm Asian armies ready to release at exactly the same time.

Spring and Autumn Period Chinese

Mongols

Nara (Ritsuryo) Japanese

Which one would you like to see released first? I can’t decide.

Spring and Autumn Chinese certainly, a good 'different' army choice.

What I'd really like to see are the "Renaissance"-era Siamese, but I'm guessing those may be somewhat down on the prospective release list?

They are not sculpted, cast, painted, and ready for sale.  😊

Just saying that this thread is asking which of three ready to go ranges should go first. 😉

Something I forgot to mention is with the spring and autumn comes a complete range of Chinese Northern Barbarians as well, as important allies and enemies of the various ducal states. My own favorite are the very aggressive Red Di, but the models can be used for any Northern barbarian tribe.

Fair point!  :D

The lure of the range being released with opponents to go up against too... it definitely has to be the Chinese!

Interesting that Mongols are still in the lead, although not by as much -- and I voted for them myself, for the sole purpose of seeing the voting results, so I have to delete one vote from the Mongols.  I think that might be due to the figurines -- I like the sculpting of all three of these ranges very much, but the Mongols are just stunning sculpts.

I voted for the Spring and Autumn Chinese, as it would be nice to have a proper alternative to Essex and because the news about allies and opponents makes them even more interesting!

The Mongol sculpts are very nice, but almost everybody makes them, albeit not always to the same standard.

Well that pushed it over the edge for me. The Japanese can wait. :D
