I am torn betwen having a mounted knight or two foot knights. Not sure what the advantages are for a mounted figure in the game (apart from the obvious longer move).  Any ides of the pro's and con's.

Fighting and moving on horseback have, as you say, their obvious advantages. The table is up so you can see the lie of the land. The scarf will be within the monastery, some parts of which will be inaccessible to horse. And once dismounted there will be no remounting.

Ignore what I wrote in the BLAM thread, it’s a knight and a serjeant (though the latter can look like a poor knight). Knights will obviously have more fighting power etc than serjeants, and serjeants more than spears. If you swap the serjeant for the horse and dismount early, then you could be at a major disadvantage if your solitary knight, clutching the scarf, runs into a knight aided by his trusty serjeant.

As an aside, some - not you, of course, Gary!  :D - might be tempted to sit astride their horse and await the scarf to appear in the open. That will likely be a poor tactic, as the Maid Marilyn will unlikely take the hand of a knight who has not committed to the fray by leading from the front. After all, the Baron wants his heir to be a lion!

Gorgeous!!

Nb: As a point of note, Captain Blood’s team comprises a mounted knight with a foot alternate, a spearman and an archer.  8)

Three men?

He’s fucked  ;) lol

I will probably have to leave around noon. But if the game is on in the morning I would love to join. In any case I will see if I can dig up some minis for this and get them ready. If only for the challenge of it.

I don't think I need to go until about lunch time so I'm definitely in the queue! Especially if there's some grudge matches.

Some long promised images of example teams ....

Four minis from left to right:

Knight (closed helm), Serjeant (distinguished in this case by open helm) and a mix of spearman and/or archer. One of the Knight or Serjeant can have a pole weapon and the archers can be either crossbow or longbow. The spearman can instead be a swordsman. Spear/swordsmen and archers can be either lightly armoured (gambeson - any Mail won’t count) or unarmoured and archers can’t have shields.

EDIT: I’ve just noticed that in some of the images I’ve used a spearman with the wrong shield pattern (12/8)

In the top image the Serjeant is swapped out for two extra spear/sword men. Archers aren’t compulsory (as per images above) but in any event can’t exceed two.

In the bottom three images the Serjeant is swapped out so that the Knight can be mounted. Once dismounted (using the knight’s foot alternate) the Knight cannot remount.
