Ghost Archipelago with small warbands?

Hey i saw this on Joe's Blog

They played a game of ghost archipelago with smaller warbands.

How would you set up such a game? Only allow 1 specialist or give everyone the full money value and they can buy as much as they want, but you only can have 6 warband members?

Any ideas? =)

haven't really thought of issues in this context tbh: all my games have had less than the full compliment of crew numbers, and we've just taken that as it comes.

You never had issues with that? As one could take all 4 specialists and the other none (not that this will ever happen in our group^^).

Only four specialists? How many players did play? Any special scenarios or did you play rnd game?

I think the game works great with smaller warbands. We played Heritor, Warden, 1 specialist, 2 standard crew. In generally, I'd probably allow 2 specialists, as they are bit more fun.  The only real issues is in how you handle treasure. We basically counted a treasure as 'secure' as soon as it was moved to a designated area - that way the figure didn't have to exit the table.
