Goodbye, Carlos Ezquerra
« on: October 03, 2018, 04:45:16 PM »
Saw it on Warlord Games news - I had missed it completely.
Carlos Ezquerra, one of the creators of some of the best 2000AD characters, died on the first of October.

Damn. :(

Oh that's sad indeed. He was a favourite of mine. In addition to Dredd and Johnny Alpha, I seem to remember him doing war comics back in the day, too. Major Easy for one, which was in Battle or Warlord (I can't actually remember which - I used to get both).

Really sad, another childhood name goes. His Dredd stuff is still awesome decades later.

Drokkin' sneck. I was not that much a fan of his Dredd work, but I thought he was the definitive Strontium Dog artist.

I was looking up the other artists and writers that I read and they're all now in their late 60s - early 70s. It's scary!

I was very saddened today when I learned the news of his passing. A great talent whose work I have admired and enjoyed since my teens. My next reading of one of his works will be poignant.

Damn. One of the very best comic book artists. Loved his work on Strontium Dog.  :'(
Enjoying the game is ALWAYS more important than winning the game.

Such a sad loss and reminder of times passing.

Think I will dig out the Strontium Dog stuff for a weekend read.

I am sorry for that, but this is one of the disadvantages of becoming older. You ar eallowed to watsch all movies and drink beer, but your heroes leave the planet

I am very saddened by his passing. Fortunately his work will live on as a reminder of just how truly talented he was.

I'm hearing that, any story that came out that he hadn't illustrated was rubbish even before the end of the first page, he will be missed.
