Medieval Project
« on: October 08, 2018, 03:05:56 PM »
In September I visited Dunstaffnage Castle, near(ish) Oban in Scotland, which fitted my ideal of a Feudal (1250-ish) seat of power. Then I started reading Ivanhoe. Thus began my new medieval project.

I’m starting off with two Forces, the greens/reds and the blues/yellows. Each force comprises 3 Knights with their Retinues. I’m using Crusader Minatures. I have yet to think of snazzy names for the Knights.

Painted so far:

Initial plans are for 24 per side, and I have the following to work through:

I also have a Robin Hood type group, a Baron with followers and flunkies, and a bunch of civilians.

I’m not sure when I’ll make the castle but in the meantime here’s some of the greens/reds hanging out at a derelict monastery:

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Nice looking figures and scenery.

Love your detailed planning/monitoring list, mine is more broad strokes but I may borrow yours for skirmish level games!

You’re figures look great, I love that range.

If you’re actually going to build a castle this is definitely one to watch!

Well the project started with a visit to a castle so it only seems right to build it  ;)
