I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Is this one of yours Matt?

It's nice. Not keen on the plinth it doesn't sell all the colours in the mud. Just seems to mute every thing down.

Is it suggesting that the mech has waded through the mud?as the mud on the mech seems a little odd. Love the overall look it. Love the idea .

That is excellent. I love the way you covered everything in mud and avoided to show any bright colours. Very daring enterprise - but to a great result. It would win a prize!

Hold up there folks. This is definitely NOT my work! I'm just sharing it. Frustratingly, I can't find the source or artist, otherwise I would have linked that.

(though thanks for the implied compliment anyway) lol

@ Mark: I agree it's a bit monochrome. On the other hand, I think the minimalist palette is quite possibly a deliberate stylistic choice to enhance the dismal emotional tone of the piece even if that comes at a slight the cost to the verisimilitude and apparent craftsmanship of the modelling.

(Phew, that's one too many twenty-dollar words!)

When I saw this I immediately thought about what kind of story this scene might belong to. Very evocative!

Colour me gobsmacked thats superb!

Find out where you found it!

My googlefoo is insufficient!

Although I am equally gobsmacked at the quality of some of the other work I have found.

To chime in its a piece by Takuma Nakano from a Japanese modelling show.  Source:

I find this shot in particular could be great if it had some rain effects added to it for that full "war is hell" look, though its well enough as it is. The mud in particular's rather well done.
