This is the "Fafnir" under construction in the Imperial Ironverks. I realised when I sat back I had created the Grandfather of the Sturmtiger or Brumbar. Check out the family resemblance.

The tracks as usual are from a Poundshop toy, I think it was a digger. I narrowed the hull by a half and got out the trusty plastic card and bits box. I think it has a nice chunky, clunky feel.

I have undercoated in gunmetal but I think the final colourscheme will be in Imperial Prussian Blue.

Steam tractor to come.

Ironclad and VSF in general aren’t normally my kind of thing, but I find this one to look really nice. Great work.

BTW who sell the figures you used in your photos?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

I recognise those poses. They are indeed Old Glory, though when I bought them they were sold as part of the Boxer Rebellion range. They sell them in a mixed bag with all the nations muddled up together. Useful set to have, though you have to take pot luck about the numbers of different head types you get. The ones with pom-poms are French.

yes I confirm it.
they are from the pack: CBP-09 Naval Art;illery crews, from the Boxer Rebellion range:
http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/proddetail.asp?prod=CBP%2D09&cat=228

I bought 2 packs from them. 1st no pom-poms, 2nd 2 pom-poms only.
very useful pack, alas no command!

I do not recognise the first figure ( a sort of an officer).

He's a Back of Beyond Russian Officer (smoking a cigar) so maybe Copplestone? I buy figures and they languish in my cabinet for years before seeing daylight again. Sound familiar?

I checked the Copplestone BoB range again. The only officer smoking a cigar is a chap from European advisors pack, but he has belt/pistol holster and full beard!
This looks like a german in "undress" uniform relaxing smoking. But still cannot recognise him.

Anyhow, this is of no importance, the important in this thread is that you have great vehicles (nice conversions) and really nicely painted figures!

I suppose if you cannibalised the tracks off four of them for ordinary vehicles, you might then be able to build a walker using the hydraulic arms.....

That's quite an idea!

HA HA Bezzo, as soon as i read what Fast said i quickly planted face to palm.
Now the question is, ya got four spare arms now?
And if ya do, what ya gonna do with them?  :-)

I did a similar thing with crane arms for a Russian Weird War Walker which I'll finish one day. However the 1/32nd one in this thread is rather similar
