ACP164: The Albedo Miniatures Game
« Reply #60 on: January 18, 2019, 11:03:54 AM »

Albedo Female Civilian.
Here's a first look at our first civilian sculpt for Albedo.
The sculpt is designed to accept any of the Albedo head range so this can be used to make a civilian cat, rabbit, dog, fox, otter (and of course many more species are coming soon). The arms are separate castings, so can be posed for variety or could be swapped with a pistol or datapad arm for example.
We are hoping for a February release.

Obvious utility as plain old human with suitable head is obvious.  Not a ton of scifi civilian sculpts of any species on the market, so the added versatility is appreciated.

Get your troops into action, in tip-top condition with the AV8 series Armored Fighting Vehicles.

The AV8 series APC The standard EDF AV8 APC is a tracked, low profile vehicle, capable of carrying eight fully equipped infantry and a driver. Powered by a small fusion plant, the vehicle provides protection against small arms, as well as limited protection against missiles and large-calibre weapons. The AV8 has firing ports to allow the passengers to use their sidearm if required, as well as a post mounted 10mm M2-50 HMG.

The other new Albedo release for January is the Homeguard (Otter) reinforcement pack.

Pack contains 3 x EDF Light Infantry armed with LAKW 1-56 Assault Rifles and mix of Otter heads (beret / bare headed)

In Albedo the Home Guard covers a wide range of troop types from untried militia through to elite special forces units. The term Home Guard signifies that the unit is part of the defense forces of the particular planet rather than part of the Extra Planetary Defense Force (EDF) who are off world reinforcements / advisors. Both male and female critters can be found serving within a planet's Home Guard. Home-guard troops are less well armored than EDF forces. The figures in our Home-guard packs contain a random assortment of male and female poses wearing light armor and home-guard berets.

This week Doug and I have started sorting out our participation game for this years Hammerhead show at Newark Showground on 2nd March, which is played using Albedo Combat Patrol

The situation on the ground is that ILR Planetary Invasion forces have landed on and around major population centers on Coralaus Prime. ConFed Coralaus Homeguard forces were pushed back after intense firefights.

Over subsequent weeks the ILR consolidated there positions, digging in (bunnies are good at that), around strategic sites, such as the Government buildings and media hub featured in our counterattack game, which sees elements of an Extra Planetary Defense Force (EDF) Mech Company, landed outside engagement range via Aerodynes moving forward in a deliberate assault to recapture these strategic sites.

The first new releases for February are two reinforcement packs for the ILR.
Each pack contains three miniatures with an assortment of body and head types to give you greater flexibility when forming headquarters and deciding on squad size.

Skirmish Infantry packs come with 3 random heads selected from 2 bare headed and 2 ILR service cap variants.
Garrison troop back contain one each of 3 variants of the ILR Garrison peaked cap.

Good decision, welcome to the club.
I've seen Ann picking your order this morning so should be heading half way around the world very shortly.
We must find some Australian hobby shops to start stocking Albedo!

Edit; hopefully badger heads?

Did someone say badgers?

We have sculptors working on badgers at the moment.
Badgers heads will be available bare headed, in EDF Combat Helmets and with cloak hoods and conical helms for converting figures for Redwall Abbey, Burrows & Badgers, Frostgrave etc.

The ACP164 Participation game at Hammerhead last weekend.

The scenario saw the ILR troops (Independent Lapine Republic) who had landed and taken control of government buildings, digging in along the edge of some parkland that surrounded the main broadcasting station.

An EDF Mechanised Infantry Platoon had been tasked with recapturing the building.
