Just glued this kit together last night from the latest batch of pre-production proofs from our casters. This is the EDF Automatic Grenade Launcher kit, I've assembled it with the new Dachshund head and tail. This model is part of the Kick Starter so will not be available to buy until we have shipped all our Kick Starter pledges out in June, however we are still taking late pledges via Backerkit

I'm looking forward to checking this range out more closely at Salute. I'm particularly curious as to whether the Cat heads will work as Siamese (if you please).
I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.

We are pretty excited about Salute, too. We have a couple of exciting new unit boxes that we hope we are going to get out for a Salute release. I will try to paint a cat up as a Siamese before Salute!!

These are some conversions using the Albedo Miniatures AV8 Armored Personnel Carrier and Albedo EDF & ILR bodies and weapons together with some human sci-fi / near future heads from Pig Iron Productions to make some hard sci-fi / near future infantry and vehicles.

Here is our first Salute 2019 new release, the ILR Blue Wind Special Purpose Forces Team.

Operation BLUE WIND was a long running reconnaissance operation, based deep in ConFed territory. The troopers selected for this mission became a special breed, known for their resilience, ruthlessness and independent thought. Because they specialised in raiding and short-term missions, these squads were typically heavily armed and well led.

A BLUE WIND team consists of 12 critters, formed as an infantry squad, and always commanded by an officer, and often broken down into two fire teams. The second team is led by a sergeant, and often operates independently. Both teams have a two critter LMG crew, and the remaining three members of the squad are armed with a sniper rifle, rifle/grenade launcher combination, and normal rifle - this trooper is usually a medic in the second team and a communications specialist in the first team.

Unusually for the Republicans, these teams often wear camouflaged clothing appropriate to the area that they are operating in as they attempt to blend in with their surroundings during long reconnaissance patrols or sneak attacks.

The miniature range has been digitally sculpted and the figures are supplied as multi-piece metal castings to allow a wide variety of troop type to be depicted. The miniatures have been designed to overcome many of the problems associated with multi-piece metal castings. Heads are cast with a neck that finishes in a pin that locates in a hole in the body; where possible pairs of arms are cast as a pair holding a weapon with pins at tops of arms that locate in to holes in shoulders. This ensures that components align perfectly and are easy to glue together. Figures supplied with 25mm plastic slotta-base.

Many atrocities were carried out by the ILR during the 1st Lapine War. The worst examples involved an ILR Major called Amenenha – known as “The Butcher of Baka”. His preferred method of execution was to lock critters in a building which was then burned down – as this saved ammunition. Like many senior ILR critters, Amenenha escaped Baka before the end of the war. His whereabouts are unknown to this day, and he is high on the ConFed’s “Most wanted” list for war crimes.

This is a test cast of Amenenha that I painted up at the weekend.

On my workbench - 3rd April
Scale comparison - small frame critters. I've just painted up a test cast for a Mouse trooper. This is the first test cast of small frame critters, note he is carrying the same sized carbine as everyone else. Mice variants are due for release latter in April with Rats to follow in May.

Albedo Combat Patrol:ACP164.
The Defence of Science Station Z1430.

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend Patrick had an unexpected free afternoon so we decided to have a go at the introductory ACP164 scenario - Defence of the Science Station.

Set on a planet, many light years away from Arras Chankra an ILR Planetary Invasion Fleet has recently landed and plan to annex Ralon186 to the Republic,

Taken by surprise, the planetary HomeGuard were quickly overthrown at the starport and main population centres, however there are many pockets of resistance that need to be cleared before the ILR can claim a complete victory.

Science Station Z1430 was a biological research station, engaged in valuable research to determine if cultivated plants could be used to supplement the critters mainly synthesized diet. A single section of 8 HomeGuard had been tasked with its defense, however the platoon HQ was also located in the building and an additional section were close enough to support if reinforcement was necessary.

All was set for an exciting afternoons gaming. Loads more photos and battle report on my hobby blog @

On my workbench 29th April 2019

Over the weekend I have been assembling some Police / Internal Security troops armed with riot shields and batons and a shotgun

The megaphone is an arm swap with a protestor. I know that I should not really say this about our own figures, but they do make me smile every time I sit down to assemble a batch as there is so much versatility with the separate arms, heads & tails.

These are scheduled as a May release, we've not got production casts through yet, these are pre-production proofs.

The question is what color to paint police uniforms in Albedo? The same colors as the military? Blue? Black? Grey? Let me know what you think. as I want to get a squad painted up to photograph to go in the books.

I always think dark blue for police uniforms, but that's just me.  Realistically it's a tossup between how easy you want your riot police to be seen.  Bright colors (hunter orange, say) will make you easy to see and maybe be intimidating to an angry mob.  Urban came will make you much harder to shoot at, but you'll wind up blending into the background when you're trying to get peoples' attention.  Black is just sinister.  All of them ought to have some identifier on the back like FBI, SWAT, etc.

Perhaps dark or urban camo uniforms but have the riot shields and maybe helmets bright orange or yellow or something?
