Not my normal area of interest, although I do find WW1 aviation interesting.
Came across these rules for WW1 aerial combat. It's basically the old "Blue Max" rules with a make-over.
The site contains complete rules downloads and stat sheets for nearly every WW1 fighter plane. The rules remind a bit of the old "Crimson Skies" ( not the new clicky version) and look pretty simple to play. It also gives me an excuse to by lots of 1:72 bi-planes ( and the very cool DR1 Tri-plane) and mount them on extending flight bases.

Dakka! Dakka! Dakka!

This game is very popular in the Pacific Northwest.  I haven't played it, but one of my friends played it at our regional game convention last June, and promptly went out and bought several 1:144 scale WW1 planes and thirty car antennas to turn into stands.  The crowds around the game table at the convention seemed to be having a very good time.

I always thought it worth a try, but never found an opponent.

the same here - which is why i hope to convince my wife to play it with me.

i may begin with paper-cut out models (ala Fiddlers Green) with toothpicks and blue tack before i invest in two airfleets
