Who makes 1/56 or 1/48 vehicle decals apart from Warlord?
« on: October 26, 2018, 01:22:07 PM »
I wondered if there was anyone else out there selling a range. Mostly wanting British tactical arm of service markings for soft skins and recce vehicles. And maybe some similar German.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

yourself is an option , if you have a decent image of the sign, a photo qualitiy color printer ... and special paper
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Do not touch Dom's decals. I have been waiting months!!!!!
He has had the money, but has not answered any of the many e-mails I have sent.

Although Black Lion decals are listed as 1/72 or 1/35 they will scale them to 1/56 quite cheaply. They did this for my WW1 Tanks.

James, at the Ambassador's Mansion game that you missed, Ian was telling us about Company B & their custom ordering service (as mentioned above by Carlos). He ios preparing to do modern Mexican
police (bought some squad cars from poundland) but needed decals for the 'Policia' signs and the
large, but very detailed, bonnet crest. He sent Company B photos of what he wanted, along with what size they had to fit onto. He is very happy with the result, estimates it cost about twenty pound (including postage).
I know you like the British unit with the Polar bear logo, so this could be your chance to have them on the table.

This!

It's actually really easy to do. You don't need a fancy printer, I've got a cheap one and it works fine, just print on good quality settings.

i use an old Canon MP730 photo printer ... so it's not a so fancy printer  ;)

but i used Company B service on a big project for which i needed white printed on clear decals paper ... a bit on the expensive size ( but it was a big project, motorized/mechanized 1/56 unit , with around 12 vehicles with different markings ) , take some times but top result ...

I've used Archer decals fro my 1/72 stuff, and they do 1/48. These are a bit different from regular water slide transfers - they're dry transfers, so you rub them on the model... Also, there's no need to gloss varnish the model before applying (to eliminate 'silvering').

The website is a bit clunky, but here's the linky: http://www.archertransfers.com/ArcherMain.html

Lot's of other interesting stuff, like surface details etc.

I've never actually bothered doing this, and don't get silvery decals. I use Micro Set/Sol and they seem to do a great job with minimal fuss, even on complex shapes:
