Your painting skills blow me away.  From that angle the bow looks a bit rude, like he is getting ready to assault you with something he found in the naughty drawer.  lol

Lovely highlights and the axe head in particular.

I painted up another orc from the Knightmare Miniatures range. I decided to paint him in a more traditional green but with tints of red and flesh where the skin would be thin or flush with blood. I also added some textures similar to the big orc with the two cleavers that I painted earlier. Snow was made with various snow products from AK Interactive.

Fantastic brushwork. Can I ask what sort of technique you use to do the mottled red effect, or is it just very controlled painting?

Superb! They're all brilliant, but I think the paler, more naturalistic skin tones are best of all. Staggering work on the brighter green fellows too, though!

Thanks all!

Fantastic brushwork. Can I ask what sort of technique you use to do the mottled red effect, or is it just very controlled painting?

I paint on random dots and patches and then refine the shapes, adding highlights and shadows to give it a 3d effect. For the reddish skin I use a thin glaze of Scale75 Red Leather and then bring up the highlights by mixing in a Sc75 Harvester Flesh to the green and then White Sands (a warm off-white) for further highlights.
