40MM Bofors Gun

Anybody know where I can find scale drawings, for the ground mount 40mm Bofors gun? This is for a 28mm scratchbuild. Thanks for any help.

Get hold of the old Airfix model, and scale it up by 131% if you want 1/56th. or by 150% if you think 1/48th is the right scale for 28mm.
Using kits is a good way of making a scratchbuild, as you get to see the 3d image of what you are trying to achieve.

Out of interest, are you trying to make something that looks a bit like a bofors, from a wargames perspective, or an accurate scale model?

I'm working on the former, for personal use (i'm not a rivet counter), but would always be curious to see how others approach this.

I seem to remember an old Airfix Magazine Annual that had an article on the Bofors for the 8th Army.

I had it but I've no idea where it is now - if I remember it also had Hungarian artillery and Soviet giant tanks in it.

I have the airfix one out in my garrage. I can photograph it if you want. I also have a new one in a box so I should have the instructions if you want them photocopied?

Found them! Thanks to dadlamassu for reminding me about the Airfix Annual article.  I made up a pdf of the plans so if you want to PM me your email address, I'll bung them off to you.  They have a scale ruler on them so you should be able to work out the proper sizes.  Of course, being typical of the period, they only have four views so you'll need to fudge the right side a bit.  I've never understood why so many plans are missing one view.  Most military vehicles are not mirrored on both sides so what are people supposed to do about the missing details if they want to create an accurate reproduction? Close isn't always good enough!
