I don't know, its like busses - none at all, and then 2 come along at once.
TMcNulty asked to see some piccies of the Bofors i'm working on, so rather than hijack his thread, i thought i'd start a new one.
I wanted an anti-aircraft gun, for A Very British Civil War and the 40mm Bofors was being exported around then.
Unfortunately the only model i could find was c£40, so i thought i'd have a go at making one.
Its is supposed to give the impression of a 40mm Bofors, but realistically is never going to be an exact copy.
I went for the Swedish version, without the shield, which was added by the Brits later on.
The seats are overly large, as are the hand cranks (went for the handpowered version, rather than the later electric one), but like i say its an imperfect world. Will probably hide some of the carriage later with clutter, and camo netting.... might leave the fingerprints on the seats, to give a bit of texture....
I plan to have the gun mount as possibly detachable, so i can also stick it on the back of a truck.
Update:
Crouchie was taking the mickey at Partizan, so i thought i'd better get on with this project, as i'd started it.
Built the carriage for the Bofors today - as you can see,
its still very much a WIP, as the wheels are rough to say the least (the milliput hasn't dried yet, so i can't begin to carve/sand them into shape yet).
Its slowly taking shape - will never look exactly like the real thing, but almost good enough for me. I'm not planning on putting a shield on the front, as I mentioned, its meant to be an early model - 1937, for use in my British Civil War force.
