Nice! 100 Kroner, thatīs, like, 14 Euros if Iīm not mistaken? Looks like you got a good deal, but apparently itīs only about passenger cars, isnīt it?

A lovely Tracky on the front cover there. My dad's got one of those. He recently took it to a house in France that has been recently restored for the first time since being burnt down by the Nazis (it had been some sort of Resistance safe-house).

The Nazi officials arrived in a Traction Avant when they came to burn it down. A photo shoot was done with my dad's car at the house, to comemorate the building's restoration. Many villagers came out to watch (some who had done the same in the 1940s).  They seemed pleased to see the car, even though it had belonged to the baddies in that particular incident.

Trackys are the perfect car for Pulp Resistance Shenanigans, and can be used by either side. I prefer them with Frenchmen in berets leaning out of the windows with sten-guns. Perfect for a drive-by: 1940s style. I wonder if you can get a Traction Avant in something approximating 28mm?

And thereīs a lovely Traction Avant by Vitesse in 1:43rd scale. Iīve got both versions, one in a standard "civilian" variant and one in FFI service with coal gas bottles on top. Iīll try to dig them up and take some pics, but they look very good with 28s, especially if the latter are based on thicker bases.

My Dad is alos a vintage car fanatic!  He has a 1935 Maserati 4CS.
Given that the vintage car world is smaller (in owner-head-count anyway) than the wargamer world I wouldn't be surprised if they knew each other!

I think he's still in the Traction Owners Club, but he's not active. By that I mean he doesn't go to shows or hang around with like-minded owners.

He used to do that kind of stuff but it became all about club politics and power struggles (that happens with wargamers, too), and he wasn't interested in getting involved in all that.

Nowadays he's more into being a Rally Driver, and competes in a 70s Escort Mexico in historic rally events.

Ah, maybe not then!

I don't think the VSCC (Vintage Sports Car Club) do rally events!  They are more into hill-climbs and time-trials I think

By the way, thanks for the kit link. I wouldn't mind a nice little Tracky. I know it's probably sacrilege to say it, but I think it looks quite cool in that Panzer Grey colour.
