Looking good! They have that nice frozen monochrome look to them.

Agreed! Great work!

Also, missed it before, but the Wildling group shot looks fantastic!

Quick update....a few hours spare this weekend, so knocked out another 42 dead - mainly mantic ghouls with green stuff fur and some spare weapons, although there a few Frostgrave/Fireforge parts in this batch.

Still some more of these to work my way through at some point before I start adding some slightly less decomposed corpses into the mix.

Dothraki on the paint table next, plus thinking about starting some new Houses....because I clearly haven’t got enough on the go right now

 ;D

Absolutely brilliant, caught the dark decayed tones of the TV  show's undead perfectly - I'd be so tempted to repaint all of mine in this exact style if I wasn't already buried by a to-do pile. Love these! Can we see some shots of your stuff in action soon? A full photo rep would be so awesome.

Thanks all, much appreciated!

I intentionally used a simple palette, dark brown base coat, a dark wash, then dry brushed with successive layers of a grey flesh/off white. The odd gore here and there is Tamiya Clear Red, mixed with a little brown/black.

I’m going to need a LOT more of these, so it has to be easy to replicate.

 :)

Planning on a game shortly....just need to write some simple rules....oh and clear some space on my table to actually play a game

 :D

Next up, I need to paint the Dothraki on my paint table, but I’m pondering my next moves, and toying with adding one or more new Houses....

Quite fancy adding some Stannis forces...inspired by other threads in here. They’d fit well with both my Lannister’s, and Bolton’s.

Tyrells, and or Tarlys are another possibility, as would be adding the Frey’s...certainly the latter having the advantage of siding with various Houses.

Also fancy adding some more Northerners...Umbers, Glovers & some Hornwoods, but perhaps I could do with a break with sculpting fur.

Another option would be the Golden Company...despite their bit-part role in the TV series, they’d be interesting as a potential reinforcement to all manner of Houses during a campaign.

Undecided....any views chaps?

 :)

Obviously I'm very biased so I'd definitely be interested in seeing your take on some of the ol' Baratheon boys!

But the Golden Company sounds like a fun one to try too, between the TV show and the books, there's a whole lot of room for interpretations with the East-meets-West theme!

Freys and Golden company would seem to offer the most flexibility, as they can change sides.

The Freys would work with your Starks, Boltons, Tullys and Lannisters, so they'd be very flexible.
All that grey and blue might be a bit uninspiring to paint though.

I'd go with the Golden Company, some heavy cavalry, some light infantry and a couple of elephants. They're even more flexible than Freys and they sound like more fun to model and paint.

Thanks everyone ...so basically I should just build forces for EVERY House  :D

House Seaworth

 lol

I’ll have a bit more of a think about all of the options while I finish the first bunch of Dothraki (hopefully) this weekend.

In the meantime, here is a group shot of the Night King’s forces (minus the dragon which was difficult to squeeze into the shot).....

.....and yes, I need a lot more dead’uns.

Made some progress on the Dothraki...aiming to finish them this weekend.

In the meantime I’ve been looking at the various options for my next force and I’ve narrowed it down to either Stannis or possibly the Golden Company...will have a play about with a test piece for both, and take some photos of them along with the Dothraki.

There...I’ve said it now, so I’d better get on with them  :D
