Really like the green stuff feathers, thats the part that turns them into Summer Islanders cracking piece of kit bashing!

Thanks, although I suspect they’d get a nasty shock venturing into the North in that outfit  lol

I’m undecided on how many Islanders I’ll make...perhaps a few more, and then absorb them into a larger unit of Golden Company archers, to keep with my 24-strong foot units.  For Essos, I’d be tempted to give them a whole unit, either as a roving band of pirates of perhaps hired guards for one of the Free Cities?

Loving the Summer Islanders - it is quite a challenge sourcing a combination of exotic looking figures AND longbows...
For Essos, have you considered fielding a unit based around the more flamboyant costumes from the Italian Wars / Landsknechts? I saw a free set in a popular magazine recently and will be using a few of them...

Thanks mate.

Re:Essos, I was thinking that the flamboyant Landsknecht-type costumes would be good for Bravosi...I think Captain Blood painted some up a number of years back that lodged in my mind.

Isn’t that traditionally taken at the END of a project though?

Might be a bit of a wait in that case  lol

Nice conversion work there! I'd been spending ages trying to track down a suitably feathery figure, hadn't thought of using the Ansar set!

Not much spare time this weekend, but I decided to have a go at building a ship....it’s the 1/72 medieval cog that was around a few years back. I’m replacing some of the more fragile bits with hard wire as I go, and I’m going to leave off the rigging...I just want a gaming piece, and frankly the rigging will just get in the way.

I’m not building it for a particular House, rather, the Ship’s Captain will be available for hire to whoever can pay the most.

It always amused me in the TV series when various forces seemed to churn out hundreds of identical ships, in a short space time....the joys of CGI navies.

There's a coincidence! I managed to snag one of the Crusader Cog kits off ebay not too long ago to add to the ASoIaF project!  lol

Have you glued in the mast, or are you leaving that detachable for like, storage and such?

I wonder if there's any way of making exchangeable sails or flags, to swap out for different houses. Though, like you say, there's absolutely going to be some Salladhor Saan type sellsails working for just about every house with a port!

I have one of the Zvezda 1/72nd scale cogs waiting to be done at some point. Your idea on the sellsword captain is a good one and look forward to seeing this ship completed!

You can't stop at one ship. You know you will want to do the battle at Blackwater.

Thanks everyone  :)

I’ve glued the mast in to give some extra stability for the structure.

I had an idea about that....you might be able to make out a couple of pins near the top of the mast? I’m hoping to hang the sail off of them, to make it interchangeable.

Well...once I’ve made this one I’ve got enough for Joffrey’s Fleet at least  :D

Don’t tell him that  lol
