Three Castles Walk - Part One
« on: November 09, 2018, 03:50:28 PM »
It was back in September that Mr Steve and I decided to walk part of the route on the Three Castles walk in the Marcher Lands of South Wales.

The three castles formerly owned by the Marcher Lord Hubert de Burgh are quite different one to another.

Excellent report, thanks for that.
Also not far away is the lovely Goodrich Castle overlooking the Wye (if my memory serves).

Great stuff, very interesting reading, I especially like seeing the artists impressions as to how they looked.

Interested to see part two. :)

Thanks so much, I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual tour!  I'm so envious of you guys with so much medieval history in your "back yards".  A walk like this with a friend is what life is all about to me.

Thanks again

Thanks for your comments chaps.

I guess it is easy to take for granted the amount of interesting history in the UK, all in relatively close proximity, but I count myself as someone who really appreciates the glorious countryside here in the UK together with the sites it has to offer especially when you get weather that Steve and I enjoyed during our two days so I am very pleased to be able to share the experience with others.

Cheers all

JJ

Very nice. I might use this as a reference for my own castle build.
