Opponent Finder

I realise that people use this forum for various different reasons but I expect that a good proportion of people here play wargames of one sort or another.

Again I expect that a chunk of those wargamers struggle to find people to game with.

I myself struggle. There are a couple of clubs local to me but due to shift work and family commitments it's impossible to commit to an evening a week to go to the club. There is also a local hobby shop but I think I'd struggle to get anything other than a power game of 40k with a teenager which isn't really my thing. Therefore its solo wargaming or something easy with the kids occasionally.

I was wondering if the forum would consider some kind of opponent finder thread?

It could he something as easy as a list of members with their location, the games they play and whether they can host.

I know the Oldhammer forum had a map thing that people can add their details to for this very thing.

Is this something that could happen here?
What are people's thoughts on the idea?

Sounds a good idea. I have also struggled to find  opponents as I am not really a club gamer. I suggested ones location should be displayed with each post. But not everyone is keen on giving their location.
