Irish rebellion figures 1798, 15-18mm ?
« on: November 22, 2018, 08:49:44 AM »
Anyone make 15 or 18 mm figures suitable for the Irish rebellion 1798 ?

I think Khurasan  were going to do a range in 18mm.

Yes they were, and several figures were shown on a thread on TMP a few years back; but nothing since, I'm afraid.  Unfortunately, this seems to be a bit of a thing with them - I'm still waiting for the early Henry VIII range that I have seen painted up in the collections of "a chosen few".
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Hi , i found an old TMP post on this same question.

I had been anticipating those Khurasan models at one point, as it is on my wargame 'to do' list.

I don't know if they're still available, but Gladiator Games' Prussian Landssturm would certainly be useful for civilians armed with pike and assorted firearms.  I've got some here somewhere...

Minifigs make a set of Miquelets. No pikes, but an assortment of civilian figures with muskets, scythes, etc.

I presume you've read "Year of the French"? Humbert immigrated to New Orleans and was a militia commander at the 1815 battle. Locals didn't like being under command of a Frenchman, considering his stories of whipping redcoats as tall tales and nothing more.

Correction: the Minifigs are Spanish guerrillas, not miquelets. They have a woman with two muskets, quite formidable.

They also have Russian partisans, a pack of males and a pack of females, no pictures.

With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

If you mean Gladiator Miniatures, I think they are now available from Black Hat.

Maybe worth nagging Khurasan about a release date - last time I asked, he was hoping to have them out sometime in spring 2019, which might actually happen if enough people promise to buy loads of them!

If Kurhasen do release them , you can use the soon to be released 18mm  French revolutionary wars British figures  from Lancashire Games.

I was going to do this conflict in 15mm using Irregular Miniatures Irish Rebels and Minifigs Revolutionary War British. I thought the IM figures were quite good.

Nice project, twiglet! Since visiting Enniscorthy a couple of years ago I have a lingering desire to fight Vinegar Hill sometime:

Please do post photos of your armies when they're done.
