General Purpose Wagons AZW Question
« on: November 25, 2018, 01:24:55 PM »
Have seen the Perry and Empress wagon offerings, just wondering which MDF wagons would also be reasonably accurate for British General Purpose Wagons. I want to make a supply train, but guessing a mix will likely be more appropriate ?

Colonel Bill's Depot Battalion Boer Wagon

I picked up 3 with some oxen and the wagon crew.  i believe most of the transport in the AZW was 'contracted in' even if driven by Army personnel

Thanks all, hadn't seen the Colonel Bill, stuff, some useful items there. Not sure about the square hoops on the wagon, I have only seen the round ones in illustrations (I know I am probably rivet counting!).

In fact a true British GS Wagon useful from Colonial wars up to WW1 is still lacking among various offers..Boer type wagons pulled by oxen where of course used in great number by Imperial forces during AZW, Boer War even during WW1 in both SWA invasion and East Africa Campaign ..but also many GS service were used..also because the could be pulled by horses and mules

Redoubt do a very nice British wagon and a Boer wagon as well. Both cast in white metal. :)
