The Rout's first incursion into the Necropolis had been a drop pod landing and it had been quickly repulsed. The single squad was no match for the forces sent against them. The Thousand Sons were far too tactically competent to miss that the burial ground was the perfect route to outflank the main Corvidae Temple.
Unfortunately for them, so were the Vlyka Fenryka.
The movement of the lightly-armoured Fenrisian veterans did not go unnoticed and the Thousand Sons responded in force.
The importance of the ground caused Russ to direct more forces in that direction and soon the initial Rout force was joined by Sisters of Silence and a small unit of Adeptus Custodes.
The red-armoured warriors fell back before the combined onslaught of the aggressor force.
Some reinforcements were rushed in to support the Thousand Sons and it was just enough to stall the Chastisement force for long enough.
