Mech Attack/ Battletech Alpha Strike
« on: December 03, 2018, 10:33:18 AM »
Hi!

Harebrained Scheme's "new" Battletech computer game rekindled my love for the Battletech universe, so I started re-painting a few old Dark Age miniatures to play with...

There will be miniatures, terrain and possibly one or two game reports.

The first miniatures are an Uller and an Arbalest from Clan Nova Cat/ Spirit Cats.

Uller:

Arbalest:

Gossamer VTOL:

That's a good start so far. Like your brushwork.

Nice.  Lovely chipping and wear effects on those.

Looks great. That new game did the same for me.

Beautiful whites, and well-offset by sparing use of chipping.

I was never a big fan of the MWDA designs in the BattleTech universe itself (me being too deeply rooted in the 3025 timeline), but some of the vehicles had a very nice sleek sci-fi design that worked well on its own.

Thanks :)

@ Westfalia Chris:

Yes, some of the designs are really, really weird. The Catapult, the Centurion with shield or Atlas 2 are some examples. But luckily there are also beautiful miniatures such as the Atlas 3, Carnivore Battletank, Joust Battletank, Manteuffel, Kodiak, etc. etc. ^^

Anyways:

I like the worn look of the surfaces.

Great. The mad cat is definitely one of their best designs.

Wow, I love them. They look great, those worn whites are ace, as well as the glass effects. Top notch.
