3950 size 3/0:

3050 size 0 and 5/0:

The local Blick art store has the former available and the latter requiring special order. Other than being short handled and designed for detail work, I know know nothing about this type of brush, so has anyone used one for figure painting? I guess the shape of the 3/0 and 5/0 might assist in painting eyes, as you're not applying pressure directly, but would have to test one out, to be certain.

I've had similar brushes for years and have yet to put them to work.  The ones you picture have a practical problem: the bristles are just too short - though that might not be an issue if you're just doing minor details like eyes.  Still, I prefer a brush with long bristles that come to a sharp point.

Let us know how you get on - if you go on.
