Necromundan beasties
« on: December 27, 2018, 09:38:40 PM »
A couple of beasties, so to speak ;D

These are commissions from a couple of pals; they both wanted to repurpose Blood Bowl minis into Necromunda. The first one was this Ogre:

The directions I was given involved replacing the right arm with this chainsaw. I also included a power generator, kind of Iron Man like (no, it's not a wheel, it's a power plant, shhhh ;D)

But well, I thought this one deserved some more conversion work to look like a proper Necromundan creature. I essentialy addes tubes:

And a bionic leg:

The pulley on the shoulderpad was a last minute idea, to give the arm a sense of weight. I also sculpted an Orlock sigil on the other shoulderpad, as it's meant to be for that House:

The other project was not that different. This time it was a Blood Bowl Troll:

My first idea was to use a huge two handed weapon, but it was too ridiculous even for Warhammer standards:

I fortunately found the hand from the Goblin King (from the Hobbit starter box):

The front mini was awfully empty. I replaced the wooden sign with a canister and intubated the poor guy:

Tubes and plugs:

And finally decided to have him throwing a spear, as the original pose asked for it (the troll is throwing a ball, so this change looked more natural):

Some wires and tubes later...

I also made this base

My pal wanted the Troll to have a Gothic/Emo makeup, kind of The Crow movie. So...

This is it for now, a couple of big monsters. It's been a fun experiment, and you see, you can turn anything into 40K if you have enough tubes :D

I wasn't convinced by this model but final effect is really good. I love it.

Fantasy Football miniatures, especially blockers and linemen, are a very rich source of figures for post modern/post apoc type games.
So many to choose from.

Very nice. The ogre reminds me of the bull gorg fluff from the original necromunda. Twin chainsaws! That may be a conversion I need to do.

Lovely work! How did you make the tubes? Do you have a "tube tool" or is there some other method?

Thank you all!

Yes, I use this tool:

It's pretty simple to use, I totally recommend it. I made a quick 'how to' on the blog, precisely about the troll, hope it helps :):

Was about to ask the same; another one added to the list. Marvellous results!
