A lovely start. A practical question - how will you attach the gate to the plinth (due to its weight)? Epoxy glue?

Very much looking froward to seeing what you do with this one!  Looks like a cracking idea and a really good component selection.

More please.

Thanks fellas!

Von Lucky - you just stopped me making a mistake! Never mind the weight of the gate - the cardboard panels underneath were guaranteed to tear!

Modifications underway!

Welcome back!

This latest build appears to be going places!

Oh, that really needs a built in Van der Graaf generator for blue sparks while playing...  calculated insanity.

I have to ask, are there actual games played with these contraptions, or is it the joy of building?

That's a good question, Shahbahraz!

I've been out of the hobby for a while, but I generally build VSF with the G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T system in mind. My wild west town, Leadwood was built for The Rules With No Name.

I'm easing myself back into gaming, and may dabble in other areas too - fantasy, sci-fi, perhaps lacepunk.

Ooh.. that's very nice indeed. I have to assume you have an underground lair with an acre of storage space. Me, I'm pushing it to get my boring old 28mm buildings for Normandy, the Desert and North American AWI stashed away safely.  For some reason my wife seems to think the shed should be for storing power tools, lawnmowers and so on..

Colonel - if I wasn't clear I was a fan of your creations before, then let me be clear - this (and Leadwood in particular) are absolutely pieces of art. Thank you for also taking the time in sharing them.

Thanks Von Lucky! You're too kind!

Shahbahraz - I too have storage issues, but where there's a will there's a way! Leadwood unfortunately spends 99% of the time in two cases I made for it, but at least being made on two boards with everything glued down, it takes less than a minute to set it up!

Some of my other creations - Gargantua, Pantagruel, Shandy Tanglefoot's Overcompensatory Death Ray Of Doom, etc. are in glass display cases in my living room. Others have been sold to a collector - although in the case of Big Mike and the Faraday Galvanic Field Gun, and the Bazalgette Light Armoured Perambulatory Contrivance, I wish I had kept them for the British army - so I plan on making new ones.

I'll probably start posting shots of actual armies soon, and maybe the occasional battle report.
